This Granny Flat was built for a lovely couple to house their daughter. Having family members move back home is gaining momentum due to the increasing cost of living. Building a new home is becoming out of reach for the average person. However, a Granny Flat in the backyard provides a suitable and independent space as a much cheaper option. You save money not having to purchase land, and the cost to build is much less than building a larger new home.

Project Details

The interior layout used for this Granny Flat is our Gosford design which is open-plan. The Gosford design has performed well in the market due to the open floor plan layout and many other features this design offers.

The interior consists of a galley-style kitchen with a splashback window, an island bench with a breakfast bar, and open-plan dining and living areas that make the home feel open and bright.

This design consists of a combined bathroom and laundry, wardrobes with sliding mirror doors in the bedrooms, walls painted in Haymes Whitewash, Denver 4.5mm vinyl plank floors, wool carpet to bedrooms and wardrobes, ceiling fans in each bedroom with LED lights throughout, 3.5KW Actron reverse circle air conditioning, 2 tone kitchen – Polytec Polar White Sheen vanity, below bench cabinets, pantry tower and Polytec Ravine Bleached Walnut to overhead cabinets with 20mm Santorini Smart Stone bench tops providing that crisp, relaxing and inviting atmosphere.

The exterior consists of Weathertex Selflok Texwood Smooth Cladding, Gully roof, gutters, Surfmist fascia, Bradnams aluminium powder coated Surfmist door and window frames.
